What Causes Nasal Drainage And Difficulty In Swallowing Post A Concussion?
my son is 8 yrs old . he had a slip and fall about 1 1/2 months ago which resulted in a concussion. Since that time he has complained about difficulty swallowing and what may be some post nasal drip or drainage. I have observed him having to swallow with a very deliberate motion. He also says he thinks he has something stuck in his throat. Today he reached in with his finger and retrieved a small white semi-solid glob from his tonsil area. I have no idea if the current complaint of difficult swallowing is related to the concussion. He has been seen in office by his doctor and they felt there was no immediate danger but not sure of any connection between the fall and the throat condition.

What Causes Nasal Drainage And Difficulty In Swallowing Post A Concussion?
Hello, In my opinion, there is no relation between the nasal drip and the concussion. The difficulty in swallowing can be related to three nasal drips. I suggest to give him over the counter antihistamines such as Cetirizine. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
