Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had fullness, gas, nausea and upset stomach for about 3 days now. I do have a slight distended stomach, some tenderness...I have had some bowel movements, but feels like I have to go sometimes and when I try and go, nothing. Just can t seem to figure out what it is. If I belch or pass gas, it goes away for a minute or so, then comes back again.
For this reason, I recommend taking buscopan and an antiacid or PPI (omeprazole, esomeprazole, etc.) for discomfort relief. Avoiding spicy food will help too.
If the problems persist, I recommend consulting with your doctor for a careful physical exam and some tests:
- a chest X ray study - an abdominal ultrasound - a complete blood count - amylaze and lipaze plasma levels - a stool bacterial culture.
A fibrogastroscopy may be needed to exclude gastritis.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri

What Causes Nausea, Abdominal Pain And Gastritis?
Hello! Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM! Your symptoms seem to be related to indigestion or an infection (gastro-enteritis). Irritable bowel syndrome could also mimic this clinical situation. For this reason, I recommend taking buscopan and an antiacid or PPI (omeprazole, esomeprazole, etc.) for discomfort relief. Avoiding spicy food will help too. If the problems persist, I recommend consulting with your doctor for a careful physical exam and some tests: - a chest X ray study - an abdominal ultrasound - a complete blood count - amylaze and lipaze plasma levels - a stool bacterial culture. A fibrogastroscopy may be needed to exclude gastritis. Hope you will find this answer helpful! Kind regards, Dr. Iliri
