Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having nausea about 1 hour after every meal I eat. It last about 3 hours. I eat very few meals that don t produce some level of nausea. I never throw up. I have curbed my food intake, and that has helped some, but not stopped it. What is causing this?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
My thoughts and suggestions are as below.
Nausea one hour after food intake without any vomiting is suggestive that you have peptic acid disease in some form like gastritis, duodenitis or so on.
This can be diagnosed by the following:
Try to take an early appointment of a Gastroenterologist to have an upper GI Endoscopy and H pylori tests.
This will give a definite diagnosis and thus make it possible to have a specific treatment.
This may be a PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone and antacid.
Small frequent meals of soft bland diet.
No stress or anxiety to get a good relief.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
