What Causes Nausea Along With Chronic Diarrhoea And Back Ache?

I have had tuns of surgeries from lap band, lap band repair, lap band removal, gastric bypass and in june an exploratory surgery thinking I had hyinal hernia. They found out it was just scar tissue that needed to be repaired. In the past few months i have had two throat scopes, 3 ct with contrast.at one time was told i had a ulcer in my esophagus but that it is almost gone. Doweced with prilosec, karafate, zantac for nausea and i am chronicly sick weather it is neusea, vomiting, chronic diarrhea and gas and this week back ache and bladder spasms with no uti. I dont know what to do. If asking my doctor it is told to me that statistics show i am one of those people who don t do well after gastric bypass and i am that one out of ten that have serious issues. Is this true?

Hello,

* The gastric bypass can follow multiple co morbid conditions for sure in the road map of post operative recovery.

There are various issues possible for chronic diarrhea and back ache as

- loss of intestine flora

- short bowel syndrome with loss of absorption surface and villi

- lack of digestive enzymes as cholecystokinin, intestine brush border enzymes and others

- deficiency of vitamins, minerals, anti oxidants, protein, carbohydrates

- stress and anxiety

- side effects of certain medications

However, individual case causes may be different and has to be valued as per the guidelines by your treating gastroenterologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
