What Causes Nausea And Bad Vaginal Odour Post Misoprostol Insertion?
Hello, I had misoprostol inserted vaginally 6 days ago, I am still bleeding lightly, the blood is red/pinkish and appears mainly wiping after visiting the bathroom. I am concerned as the discharge has an unpleasant odor and I do feel nauseas. I Don't have any abdominal pain or a fever. Is the scented discharge a reason for concern?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. I assume that you had taken Mifepristone 200 mg before inserting Misoprostol vaginally. Misoprostol 400 mcg inserted vaginally should start acting & abortion taken place within 4 hours. If it does not, another 400 mcg pill should be inserted/taken orally. * I feel You had ineffective dose of Misoprostol , The products are still in,with probably infection - this makes the vaginal discharge unpleasant/along with nausea. I would advise you consultation of your gynecologist the earliest-for completing the abortion process - which can be with medical induction of uterine contractions or surgical evacuation of uterus- Thanks.
