What Causes Nausea And Discomfort Below The Ribcage?

I have been having nausea in the AM just as I wake up and remains until I get up and get active. Sometimes I do experience it during the day. Also I have discomfort in my abdominal area right below my ribcage (a little pain) at times. Usually if I lay on my stomach or have an impact in that area. No vomiting or feeling like I have to. No weight lose. No diarrahea. I have had this abdominal concern for years and have talked to my doctor about it but can t remember what we did if anything about it.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Pain in upper abdomen just below the rib cage could be due to gastro-oesophagal reflux (GERD).

I suggest you to consult a gastroenterologist for clinical assessment and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy to look for status of esophagus and stomach.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
