What Causes Nausea And Dizziness After A Spider Bite?
I think I may have been bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider earlier today. The mark is small, slightly reddish, I feel nauseous, dizzy, itches a little. I live in Illinois (Wheeiing) and did see a small brownish spider on my leg & brushed it off. I have many health issues, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, overweight, bipolar disorder. Should I go to nearest emergency room or wait until tomorrow?
Itching, pain, redness at bite site along with nausea are due to the spider bite. After a brown recluse spider bite, It is advised to seek medical care, as the tissue at bite site can blister and form ulcer and get infected. Please be advised to follow up with the emergency room. It is also recommended to get a tetanus shot depending on your immunization status. Meanwhile, apply ice to relieve pain. Use antibiotic ointment like mupirocin at the bite site. You can also take cetirizine 10 mg once daily to relieve itching.
