What Causes Nausea And Dizziness After Taking Augmentin?

Hi...my husband is on Augmentin 875-125 mg tablet for infection in mouth. He was on clindamycin first for two days but couldn t take because stomach issues. Switched to augmentin 3 days ago. Still feels nausea and dizzy. Is this normal for this drug?

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Augmentin 875+125 combination, can cause upset gastrointestinal tract. That can lead to nausea, stomach irritation and even loose motion. Dizziness may be because of overall weakness. Stopping Augmentin should help. Or an antiemetic drug like domperidone twice a day before taking Augmentin may also help. Thanks.

I have evaluated your query thoroughly
your husband is on higher antibiotic for mouth infection
due to higher range of antibiotic many patients have nausea and vomiting and diarrhea.
you can take antiemetic medicine like domperidone
you can take antiemetic half hour before medicine
after half an hour you take meal and then augmentin
don't eat spicy food, fried food, chicken
