What Causes Nausea And Dizziness After Taking Antibiotics For Ear Infection?

ok , my mother had flu and cold for a while followed by ear infection. took to the dr gave her antiobitic and is almost done with her antibiotic. she is getting worse , she complaining of nausea, she super dizzy cannot walk straight and becoming weak. Im worried that may ear infection spread and infection near by organs. she is also complaining of super pain at the back of her head. please help. we cannot see her dr till next week.

Hi,

Ear infections often cause inflammation of surrounding structures (vestibular apparatus) which deal with your ability to maintain balance and spacial orientation this causes nausea and dizziness. This symptom usually subsides with the ear infection and rarely intervention is required. You can take betahistine until next consultation with your doctor to alleviate the symptoms.
