What Causes Nausea And Dry Heaving?

My daughter suddenly felt nauseated and began dry heaving without really throwing up. Then she complained of extreme stomach cramps, she also had charlie horse in her feet. Finally she went to the bathroom and told me her urine was a very dark yellow. Is it possibly constipation issues or something worse?

I wish I could ask you a few questions:
- Age?
- Fever?
- Has she been ill otherwise?
- Has she been eating &drinking?
- What is her normal stooling pattern? When was her most recent bowel movement?
- Taking any medicines?

If she were constipated, I would not expect your daughter to have nausea and dry heaves. More likely is that she has a viral gastroenteritis. A charlie horse causes muscle pain. And muscle pain is a symptom of a viral illness.

Dark yellow urine can be a sign that her urine is very concentrated. Has she been drinking enough fluids?
