What Causes Nausea And Migraines While On Paroxetine?

Hi Doctors, I have been taking paroxetine, 10 mg. for over 12 years. I have a primary care physician with whom I have an appointment for my yearly check-up on July 17th. Dr. Thielen does not have any time before this date because it is a long exam where she recommends me for blood tests, etc. Dr. Thielen has been my physician for 20 years. I am 74 years old and I would like to stop taking paroxetine. I am getting more migraines than my usual number, more nausea at different times of the day or evening, and am feeling more anxious and am doing more talking than usual when I feel up, and more low when I feel down. I do not like either of these feelings and will be talking to Dr. Thielen about how to get off gradually. I originally started taking paroxetine when my mother had both ovaraian cancer and wet macular degeneration and it really helped keep me on an even keel. I think I can wait until July 17th because even though there are many doctors in her practice at Steamboat Medical Dr. Thielen knows me the best. I would go in tomorrow and just wait for whoever was available as I am really bothered by these feelings. Thank you, Kathi Skytta

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Paroxetin is anti psychotic drug.
On prolonged course (over 12 years), this can be develop resistance and its therapeutic effect decreases.
So you should start newer drugs for anxiety and migraine.
So consult psychiatrist and get prescription for flunarizine and propranolol combination.
This combination should be taken once-in-a-lifetime daily at night time before sleep.
This has excellent results in migraine and anxiety.
Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Don't worry, you will be alright with this new combination.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
