What Causes Nausea And Palpitations While On Penicillin?
I had two upper teeth pulled last friday next to one another. Today I had to go back in due to a dry socket and infection. I took 4 500 mg of penicillin to start and I usually dont take antibiotics. Im feeling a bit nausious and I think my anxiety over this is making my heart race. Is this normal!
Well, nausea can be a side effect of taking antibiotics as well as Palpitations but if you have severe anxiety palpitations can be most probably due to it..
So first of all just relax as dry socket is not a life threatening condition and you need not to worry as it can get better soon..
You should follow the instructions given to you by your dentist and you need not to take any loading doses of antibiotics any more. Take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen. Take nutritious diet and eat plenty of probiotics like Yogurt.. Do warm saline gargles and take sufficient rest..
In case if the symptoms does not get better consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
