18 years old male who just finished intense physical exercise volley practice. Came home w nausea, pale skin, shaking, headache, cold, and cold to touch. He didn t eat anything prior to workout. I gave him two Advil for headache and Gatorade along with some food. The shaking stopped but he is still cold and headache still is there. Anything else should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation this 18 years old male is going through.

From what you are describing, it might be a reaction to hypoglycemia as you did not eat anything before such intense physical exercise.

It is highly recommended to keep him well hydrated: water with gatorade. Give only light meals containing sugar for today until improvement.

Cover well, and let him rest more. He will be fine the next day. If no improvement, should send to ER.

Wish fast recovery!
