What Causes Nausea And Stomach Ache After Having Food?

My grand-daughter hasn t been able to eat anything except saltine oyster crackers and popsickles for days. Fluids do not seem to bother her but she eats anything else and she feels nausea, complains of a stomach ache. She tried noodles with a little butter but had same reaction. She has been to the doctor, they said it could be viral. Any thoughts or suggestions as to what she might try to eat w/o getting sick? My grand daughter is 10 yrs old. Thank you.

Hi,

Your daughter seems to have gastritis... which can be viral, food poisoning. She needs to have very bland and non-irritating food like cold milk frequently. Let her take it 2 hourly to start with. Then start diving bread slice with milk & when vomiting disappears, gradually she will start having normal food. Over the counter, Gelusil MPS pill can be sucked....to combat acidity. Tanitigine would help excessive pain. Take her to gastroenterologist... if no relief in 2-3 days/symptoms aggravates.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
