What Causes Nausea And Weakness In Standing Position?

Hi, I have nausea, weakness(especially in stand up position) and series of burping for almost 4 weeks. When I laying down, I am feeling little bit better. They find out my blood pressure drop when I stand up from laying position and my pulse getting over normal, but they said it is not critical. The ambulance brought me from my workplace to the emergency hospital. During this time I was 2 more times in emergency hospitals, I have visited my family doctor, and I saw cardilogist and internist. In all these places they did: 1.detailed blood tests, including viamins and minerals(some of them) thyroid glands, liver enzymes.vitamin D 2.CT scan of the head, neck and lungs All tests look Ok, but I am not getting better. I am always close to my home and bed. As soon as I get a little more active, I am getting tired that I have short breath and weakness, and I have to go to the bed to recover. Very often I am so tired that even short talk over the phone becomes problem for me(it seems to me like my voice changing and I will no able to continue the conversation). When I am standing for prolong time, very often I have nausea with felling I going to faint, without vomiting.I don t have temperature or rash of any kind. I am usually active person, don t smoke, drink or use any kind of medications. In the past I only have some problem with the inner ear, but I never experience such severe symptoms. Do you have any idea what could be the problem? Thanks Ratimir

Hi Ratimir. What I infer is it is a kind of TIA - transient ischemic attack. Positive thing is your blood work is OK every time. Yes, your doctors are right. It is not serious.

You should also request your doctor to check any cervical vertebral problem - just in case. That should also be excluded.

When you lie down, the blood supply to your brain normalises. Blood supply hampers due to various reasons and upon standing upright blood flows down and BP drops.

Best and safe method to come back to normal is to get the support of Yoga, deep breathing and meditation. Start from few minutes and increase timing slowly. As you are in for few days, you will start improving and you will like to do more. At that time be a disciplined practiser. See yourself in 4-8 weeks of regular exercise. I'd would cost you little efforts and time. You will get abundance of health.

Whenever need be, let your doctor do whatever they do. Yoga, deep breathing and meditation doesn't hamper or get hampered. That's the beauty of it.

Hope to see you healthy again. Do convey through HCM when you are OK.

Hope it helps you.
