What Causes Nausea, Blurry Vision And Faint Feeling In Child?

hi- my son is ten y/o. he was outside playing and came in saying he was nauseous. he got extremely pale and felt very faint. he lay on the floor and said i looked blurry to him. his pupils were huge. i gave him some water and some crackers and within minutes he felt better. could this just be dehydration or something more? he is very thin and very active.

Hi,

It seems the child had vasovagal attack due to hypoglycemia. He needs small servings as he would like to have frequently (2-3 hourly) to avoid such spells, till he grows up and starts eating well.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
