What Causes Nausea, Stomach Cramps And Fever With Ear Infection?
Hello. I was seen by my Dr a week ago with sore throat and ear infection that is so painful it keeps me awake at night. For the last two days I've also had nausea, stomach cramps, and fever of 102 or so. Can remember when I've felt so crummy. My question is, should I go back to my Dr with these new symptoms? I am currently taking Avolox, and my blood pressure med Amlodopine.
I can understand your concern. The new symptoms that you have developed like nausea and stomach cramps can be due to side effect of the antibiotic Avelox you are taking. Antibiotics often lead to these symptoms. You can take antacid such as Ranitidine 150 mg (Rantac) twice a day to have relief in these side effects.
However, as your pain has not been any better and you are having high fever, I would advise that you should go back to the doctor for clinical examination and go for blood tests and throat culture.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
