What Causes Navel Bleeding After Receiving Insulin Shots In The Stomach?

My adult daughter was recently diagnosed with Diabetes. She is on insulin twice a day. Shots in the stomach. She has been bleeding from her naval for a few weeks. No one seems to know why! Everyone I talk to has never heard of anyone bleeding from their belly button ! Any ideas ? Diane @ YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

Bleeding from umbilicus is not possible due to insulin injection in an abdominal skin unless and either she had a blood vessel in umbilical fold injured or there is some infection or inflammation of umbilicus which has discharge through the part. She needs an examination of the part by a surgeon to clarify and get the lesion treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
