What Causes Neck Pain And Headache While On Levaquin?

I took levaquin for a cough and it is now about 2 weeks since I finished all but one pill ..I now feel that my neck and back of shoulders are achy and I have headaches sometimes almost migraine like..I suffered with migraines from 18yr of age until 50..then I was migraine free. Now I have a weak neck &just got over a very bad headache yesterday that I had for 2 days...I think the levaquin destroyed my neck muscles which may be the cause of this achy head and very painful headaches.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

Levaquin is having levofloxacin. It can cause myositis (inflammation of muscles).

So better to stop this drug. Take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen.

Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
