What Causes Neck Pain And "pins And Needles" Sensation In Hands?

In March 2008 I was diagnosed with: Multi-level cervical spondylosis from C2/C7 with a herniated disc (C5/6) pushing against Spinal Cord laminer (no signal change) & Atlanto-axis Instability of 6 mm anterior displacement using the adontoin peg as the point of reference point. Awaiting an apointment with a Neuro-Spinal Surgeon for Sept 08, on 3rd July 2008 whilst Seated at a roundabout as the seatbelted driver of a BMW 5 series 2007 saloon model, craning to look to the right for further traffic as a car passed across infront of me at speed, I sat upright and away from the seat back, turning my head fully (craning) to the right, there was a sudden bang, I was launched head-first into the driver door laminated window which was closed. Then is thrown forwards, my dead & neck was violently whipped into the forward direction following my torso,hands & legs, my leggs hit the underside of the dash panel, I was suddely halted from the forward motion by the locking of the seatbelt, at that moment my body was thrown rearwards into the seat, my head whipped backwards, and then slumped forwards as the movemets stopped.

I later discovered this was a 36 Ton articulated lorry travelling at approx 28 MPH at the point of impact (BMW 5-Seriese approx 3350 Lbs)

In 2008 April, I presented to my GP complaining of localised neck pain, I could push the mid.neck and generate the pain down into my arms and hands, but the pins and needles would always be there, it feels like you go outside on a cold day garndening, then come in and wash your hands in hot water, I stated this ti feel life 1000,000 pins and needles. at the accident I had a verticle cut of my forehead with a 1/2 size golfball swelling, I was baddly dazzed, indeed after the details exchange with the driver, I was forced to recline the seat and again close my eyes and try to rest. The ER services were not called, I managed to drive again, very slowley with the hazard lights on, to the hospital. Dr. can you give me an Idea of the exascerbating nature such an accident would have on someone who presents with these pre-existing Cervical issues, as I was lucky my neck was not broken, but I have continued to fell 10,000,000 pins and needles flowing out from my neck, radiating down into my hands, always the left hand is worse than the right since the accident. The C5 disk was removed on 1st April 2009, but still the 10,000,000 Pins and needles pain has rendered me disabled, I drop cups of tea, there is a loss of fine sensation in the fingers of both hands, yet again always worse in the left, there is also a temperature and palm colouration, again always worse in the left. I have seen a magnitude order of 10 x in this pain since the accident and it is totally debilitating to, can you give me an idea of the forces taht were generated into the head/cevical as a system, and give me an ide of how my condition of nect would have behaved under this type of direct impact to the forehead and whiplashing events please, and why I am still experiencing the high level of pain (Pain Meds, Temgesic Sub-lingual Buprenophin 200mic/g QDS, Co-dydromol, Co-codomol, Tramadol 200 mg per day, lateley these have been replaced with Targinact Oxycodon & Noloxlone (30/15mg respectivley) daily + OxyNorm 5ml TDS) and this lates combination only makes the pain tolerable after all this time please can you give me an Idea where this pain my be generated and why?
