What Causes Neck Pain Progressing Down The Back After Neck Fusion Surgery?

I had neck fusion surgery over five years ago. The other day I turned my head at an angle and heard a very loud pop. Now I have a lot of pain in my neck, progressing down my back, and I can t turn my head from side to side. What could the problem be?
