What Causes Neck Pain?

I haave had left side neck pain that resulted in left side headaches. It began with a sizzling sound or pull that went from my neck to my head....it almost sounded like the sizzle from dinomite without the explosion (thank God). Now I constantly have neck pain and head preessure. CT normal. What could this be? Or have you heard of such a thing?
