What Causes Neck Popping Every Time After Turning Head?

Well I actually have two questions. Or maybe three. I have a neck popping every time I turn my head to the right and every time when I tilt my head to the left. I asked my parents if they could hear it, but they said no. Also, just now, I woke up with my left side of my body hurting every time I breathe in and out, please help.. I'm scared I would need to do surgery to fix these two problems.
