What Causes Needle Prick Pain In My Eyes?

I get a pain in my left eye that feels like a needle prick, it only lasts for a moment, but the pain lasts for a few minutes and my eyes gets watery. this happens several times a week to several times a day, nothing on a regular basis. what could be causing this?

Cornea is to be examined for keratitis.Examination for trachomais tobe done. If found treatment tobe given accordingly. Lid examination for enteropion trachiasis tobe done. Allthese may be the cause.
