What Causes Negative Urine Test Result For Oxycodone And Diazepam?

My boyfriend has a lot of health issues. Has been on pain meds for several years. He is also disabled. He is prescribed oxycodone also diazepam. He takes urine test frequently . His last one came back negative for his pain meds. I know this is untrue because I see him take his meds. He asked for a second test they say it also came back no meds in his system. If they took another test it is questionable to me. He has an appointment Monday 13,2015 to discuss this situation with his Dr. How can this be possible? I will not let this go. From what I have read this is happening to a lot of people. His quality of life will rapidly go down hill. Its not right someone should be held accountable. People have lost good jobs, their quality of life, and maybe even their family s. These people are red flagged and are being accused as drug dealers. PLEAESE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION MY VOICE WILL BE HEARD!!!!! SINCERELY, P. GAINES YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

There are several possible reasons why a urine test may come back negative for oxycodone and diazepam, despite a person taking these medications as prescribed.

Some of the most common reasons include:
` Low levels of the drug in the urine: Depending on when the urine test is taken, there may not be enough of the drug in the urine to be detected. For instance, if a person takes the medication right before the test, there may not be enough time for it to be metabolized and excreted in the urine.
` Diluted urine: Drinking large amounts of water or other fluids can dilute the urine and lower the concentration of drugs in the sample, making it harder to detect them.
` Inaccurate test results: False-negative results can occur due to technical errors in the testing process, such as using expired or contaminated reagents, or improper handling of the sample.
` Genetic differences: Some individuals may have genetic variations that affect how they metabolize drugs, leading to lower levels in the urine.
` Interactions with other medications: Some medications, such as certain antibiotics or diuretics, can interfere with the metabolism and excretion of oxycodone and diazepam, leading to lower levels in the urine.

It is important to discuss any concerns about medication testing with a healthcare provider. They may be able to offer additional testing or alternative methods of medication monitoring to ensure accurate results.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
