Hi,

Though cold sores can give symptoms like tingling, burning or itching. It is mostly associated with water filled blister on lips or nose and symptoms last from few days to 2 weeks at the most. They disappear as the blister heals. You have this type of sore occasionally. If your symptoms coincide with cold sores and if it's occurring repeatedly, especially in the eye, you should consult and get examined by a physician, get it treated with needful anti-viral medication. Alternatively, the same symptoms can be seen with cervical spondylosis to be confirmed by X-ray / MRI of the region.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
