What Causes No Heart Beat In Fetus At First Trimester Of Pregnancy?
Hi, I went to the doctor today for my first appointment. I am 10 weeks and my u/s showed that I have a fetal pole but there was no heart beat. He said my gestation is really only at 7 weeks. I got blood work done to measure my hcg. The doctor thinks it s most likely a missed miscarriag. Can you tell me anything different? I m 21 and I have had a miscarriage before the birth of my son who is now two. I had placenta previa with him.

Fetal heart beat should have been appreciated by this time.
You may need repeat ultrasound after 10 days.
Serial beta hCG hormone estimation should also be done.
If fetal heart beat is not seen in visualized in follow up scan then it may be considered as missed abortion.
