What Causes Nose Bleed After Having Head Injury?

My two year old fell down and hit the back of her head. I didn t see it, but someone else told me it hit hard. She cried just a little. Then, she had a very small nose bleed - which could have been caused by the cool dry air. Should I take her in or just monitor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Bleeding could have been because of local trauma to nose etc. but if the kid shows any symptoms like vomiting, dizziness or fits etc may need to be taken to ER. Meanwhile symptoms can be monitored.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
