What Causes Nose Bleed, Back Strain And Light-headed Feeling?

I am 55 yrs old. I just had the first and only nosebleed I have ever had. I have been taking metoprolol for 4 months, I had two ibuprofen today for a back strain, I have no other health issues. The bleeding has stopped. I was a little lightheaded but this could be my fear reaction. Should I worry about this?

Hi,

Most common causes of nose bleed are nose pricking, rhinitis and mucosal dryness. Just two ibuprofen tablets usually will not cause this.Anyhow sine you are on metoprolol and had a light headedness, I suggest you to get your blood pressure checked. If that is normal, and no further episodes of bleeding, nothing to worry. On other hand, if it comes agin we need to have a close look inside.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
