What Causes Nose Bleeding After A Head Injury?

A very good friend of mine was in a mini bike accident... well let s just say a bunch of the guys (we are all over 50) decided to get minibikes and have races... the one in ? Went ass over end and landed on his head (yes, he had a helmet, but it cracked fown the middle).. he wears dentures, but hears a clicking, and had a bloody nose, which I told him could be from the palate being cracked.. doesn t that protect the mouth from the sinus cavity? Anyway, will it heal on its own, or should he see an oral surgeon? Thank you!!

I can understand your concern.
Nose bleeding after head injury should always be evaluated for facial bone fractures and internal brain damage.
So immediately take him to hospital and get done CT scan of brain.
If it is simple fracture without brain injury, braces are advised.
But if fracture is displaced or brain injury is there then he might need surgical treatment.
