What Causes Nose Bleeding After Surgery For A Deviated Septum?

I had surgery to correct a deviated septum 4 weeks ago. I recently had a severe nosebleed treatment required nasal packing. Could sudden cooler air, I work outside, be the culprit? Also I was working a week before the bleed in a shed with rodent droppings. Should hantavirus be a concern at this stage

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The Rhinitis due to viral or any other infection can be the reason for nose bleed. You have undergone correct treatment for that. After nasal pack removal if bleeding continues than further work up needed like nose examination, blood pressure estimation, routine CBC etc. Pinch the nose with thumb and index finger when bleeding occurs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
