What Causes Nose Bleeding Along With Swelling In The Eye?

Hi!, recently my nose was bleeding for about 20 minutes, my friend told me to put a light pressure on my nose to stop the bleeding. I ve been holding it for about 30 minutes. During that time, I started to feel a very light pain on my left eye. I went to sleep and when I woke up, my left eye was a little bit swollen. It s been 2 days and its getting worse. I wanted to know what is it. Thank you very much.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of nose bleeding along with swelling in the eye . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infection , trauma , allergic , sinusitis and nonallergic rhinitis, hypertension and use of blood thinning medications. Need not to worry. Nose bleeding in case of head injury sometimes become a emergency condition if there are symptoms like dizziness , vomiting and neck pain. Apply cold compresses on nose and keep your head elevated while lying down .You should touching or picking nose with any sharp object. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan, MRI and do physical examination . Doctor may refer you to neurologist if he/she finds problem to be related with brain injury or problem related to nose . In case of hypertension , doctor may refer you to cardiologist , who may prescribe betablockers or frusamide.
