What Causes Nose Bleeds And Scab Formation In Nostrils?

I have been getting a lot of nose bleeds, and I have a lot of scabs inside them. I just had and it was really bloodie and I also cought up blood. Aswell my right ear and my sholders hurt alot. Also my nasel hurts now. I got a doctors appoiment on Monday March 29,2011,but do i have any thing to worrie about

Hi,

Noted your history about nose bleed, nasal scab and pain, pain in right nose ear and shoulder.
The commonest reasons for such symptoms are as follows with explanation:
Atrophic rhinitis that is reduced blood supply to nasal mucosa causes the functioning altered to cause more infection and scab formation. When the scabs loosen or tried to be removed it causes nosebleed.
Chronic rhinitis due to many causes which needs a proper nasal endoscopy, biopsy and further investigations to have proper diagnosis and management.
The infection could have gone from the nose through Eustachian tube to middle ear causing pain in the right ear.
The shoulder pain can have local reasons like frozen shoulder.
I would advise you to consult your Doctor first to have proper clinical evaluation , examination , investigations to have preliminary diagnosis and management and get referred to the ENT Specialist as needed for further evaluation and specific treatment.
