What Causes Nose Bleeds With Soreness In Nasal Passage?

Hi,

My name is Marcus Davis. I have been experiencing nosebleeds on and off for the last week now. My nose is also sore but nothing in the passage. Today I had a nosebleed that lasted only about 15 seconds. But later today I found myself very weak, dizzy and lightheaded. It was at a point where I couldn't stay awake so I allowed myself to fall asleep until now (Which was about 5 hours), but still no improvement. Do you know what the cause could be. Is there a name for this.

Hi, nose bleeds with soreness in the nasal passages is usually because of eczema/scab formation in the anterior parts of nasal cavity. The raw areas so created usually get infected and thus the soreness. The bleeding occurs when the scabs get dislodged and the raw area bleeds. Regular and frequent bleeding leads to weakness also. Please use an antiseptic lubricating ointment in nose and if problem does not resolve, see an ENT. Regards
