What Causes Nose To Turn Red And Warm?

Hi! I m a 15 year old girl who has a problem with my nose. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, it turns very hot and red. My nose is usually pretty normal during the day, but in the evening this happens (it gets warm and red). I have also noticed that it often happens after I have exercised, when I m in a car or a bus, when I go inside after being outside in pretty warm weather, or if I m just really warm. I have no idea why my nose acts like this, and it started some months ago. It really bothers me, because I think about it during the entire day, and I don t want to be around people when I know that my nose can suddenly get very red and hot. I hope you can help me!

Hello,

A red nose can be a sign of many things. Typically, increased blood flow to the skin on the nose causes the red color. This elevated blood flow can be from changes in emotion, like being embarrassed or drinking alcohol. It can come from inflammatory problems with the skin, such as rosacea. You should consult a dermatologist or send a photo to confirm rosacea. If the diagnosis is confirmed specific treatment is needed.
