I have a high platelet count and high Cholesterol (both kinds). I ve also had bloody stools for a great deal of the past year, but I ve ignored that thinking it would go away, as it usually does come and go. I also had a few spontaneous nosebleeds here and there over the past few months, but thought it was related to the weather or something. Also had chest pain in middle of night a few times that was painful and scary enough to keep me up the remainder of the night. I do take birth control pills and have for about 10 years now without any abnormal bloodwork. Also, I do not smoke cigarettes but I use nicotine-containing electronic vapor pens. Can you please tell me, in your opinion if there is reason for me to seek further testing from another doctor? A platelet count of just over 400 didn t warrant any attention from my doctor, and now that I can see my own bloodwork test results online, I am wondering why he does not care? Also, I do not understand why my bad cholesterol is high, as I m practically a vegetarian and only eat dairy (just cheese- daily), and will occasionally eat chicken, no other animal products. Please provide any helpful opinions you have for me on all of the above. Thank you.
