What Causes Numb Fingertips And Pins And Needle Feeling?

I have had numb fingers on both hands, pins and needle feeling, painful numbness when waking for over 1week. I have carpal tunnel but this has never lasted this long. I am having a hard time using them... and my left fingers are worse than my right. Also, have had numb fingertips for a long time prior..... Please help!
