What Causes Numbness And Pain At The Site Of Injection On Buttocks?
HELLO , I have a question regaurding a vitamin weight loss shot I received in my buttocks a few days ago. Bruising a very dark bruise pain and numbness and tingling all the way down my leg to my foot especially when I lay or sit on the area of the injection it gets really numb. is this a cause for concern? what could be causing this?
it sounds like a hematoma that exerts pressure effect on the nearby nerve. Perhaps the injection was done a little closer to the nerve than it should. Normally all injections are done in the upper outer quadrant of the buttocks to avoid irritating the sciatic nerve.
You should visit your doctor for clinical examination. If your doctor identifies signs of motor function impairment then this would be a cause for concern. Otherwise you can wait for it to be absorbed (it should take a couple of weeks).
I hope you find my comments helpful! You can contact me again, if you'd like any clarification or further information.
Kind Regards!
