What Causes Numbness And Pain In Right Arm?

Right arm has been numb for 2 weeks. Sometimes has pains shooting down it, some times has pain in just one or 2 spots. my hand is always numb/tingly and has now switched to being in pain all the time. I can not grip things tight like before, it hurts to write, or grasp anything. seems swollen.
