What Causes Numbness And Shocking Waves In The Site Of Injected Buttock?

doctor,i ve been given an injection in buttocks as a painkiller for my wrist injury.after that day,when the injected area got hit on something,a sudden shock travelled down from there along lateral side of thigh and stopped at the centre(lateral side between hip and knee)and a numbness spreads in a circular area.even after 5 days from injection,that area is continued as a senseless area.please tell me the reason and its teatment. there is no other difficulties with it

It is possible that there is minor nerve damage in the injected area which is not uncommon. Once it is minor it should heal within at least a few weeks.

If the damage is more severe, it can take longer or would not occur at all. This is not likely.

Your doctor can assess nerve function to the lower body for you.
