What Causes Numbness And Swelling On Bottom Of Lips While Taking Prinivil?
I have been taking Prinivil (lisinopril) for 15 years or more for Kidney disease III It was describrd when I didn t have insurance for more expensive medication My doctor has just told me to stop taking it . I have just had a endoscope and had numbness and swelling on my bottom lip . She want to be safe . I have had her for several years , she is a licensed practician My old doctor had trouble getting all patients taken care of so I changed to her. In the past other when treated in ER they thought this medication was for high blood pressure. My father takes this for Blood pressure .IM very concernd about stopping it
The endoscopy may have caused trauma to mouth and this may be the reason for the swelling and numbness though this is a possible risk of this type of medication.
There are alternatives to the lisinopril. The medications in the ARB family of drugs can be used instead, this would help the kidneys or blood pressure as well.
I hope this helps
