What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Feet?

Hello there! I am 43-year-old man, weighing 84kg and diabetic. I was first diagnosed with diabetes in 2014. However, I suspect I had this condition well before 2014 because what made me seek medical help was the fact that I used to have tingling sensations and/or numbness in my feet, especially at night. When I first met a GD, he suspected that it was neuropathy due to diabetes. Sure enough, when I finally tested for diabetes my fasting sugar level was 342mg/dl. I was immediately put on Metformin medication till end of 2016. Currently, I am on Tripride 2, which seems to have similar effect on my sugar levels - ranging from 120mg/dl to 160mg/dl. Just yesterday, I had ALT (SGPT) test and the result is 35.5 U/L, which is within normal levels. My understanding is that the most common symptom of diabetes is frequent urination. However, in my case I do not have frequent urination. I normally go to toilet two times or maximum three times per day, and usually once during the night. Could you please explain why is this so? Could this be diabetes or some other strange condition which affects blood sugar/glucose levels? Please help me!
