Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Toes And Foot?
I think I have Peripheral Neuropathy. Just recently I ve been having numbness and tingling in my toes on my right foot. A couple of years ago my doctor said my tests put me in the pre-diabetic range. However at my annual exam last year he said those results had improved and I was not in that range. I am hypertensive and taking meds that do a good job of keeping that in control. The only things things that I see on the site to alleviate this are cut down on alchohol and more exercise. In cutting down on alchohol would I have stop having a glass of wine with dinner?
You have to maintain under control the blood sugar level and blood pressure level. I recommend you to avoid alcohol, even the glass of wine at the dinner.
If the symptoms continue I recommend you to see a neurologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician

Hello, Your symptoms seem to be related to peripheral neuropathy. In case of pain or numbness, you can use anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen. You have to maintain under control the blood sugar level and blood pressure level. I recommend you to avoid alcohol, even the glass of wine at the dinner. If the symptoms continue I recommend you to see a neurologist. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
