Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For a about 3 days now, I have had numbness in my genital region, I am a female, the numbness is also, down both legs into feet, it is the tingly you feel when your legs are waking up, no back or hip pain, I have had a hesterecotomy 7 years ago and the scar in my bikini line lately has been really bothering me. Itching and I have never got my feeling back in my lower abdomen since.
Because nerves would have been severed when incising into the abdomen, some loss or change of sensation is expected to occur.
The numbness in the genital region may not be related however. In that instance, the back may need to be assessed since the nerves that supply the genitalia and lower limbs come from the spine in the lower back
Imaging of the spine and pelvic region is needed for diagnosis. This is to rule out any changes to the spine causing pressure on the nerves.
I hope this helps
