What Causes Numbness At The Site Of Intramuscular Injection?

I had a intramuscular injection on Wednesday in my upper arm, since yesterday the site of the injection is completely numb. I can touch, pinch or even prick with something sharp without feeling any sort of sensation other than pressure due to the tissue around this spot... It s about 2 in diameter(the spot that is numb.). Do I need to contact my GP or will this go away on its own?

Hello! It appears the injection hit a small nerve carrying sensations from that area.
The extent and duration of numbness depends on the severity of damage to the nerve and its covering (nerve sheath) - it is possible some regeneration may occur but the time frame of recovery is, frankly, unpredictable. All the best!
