Yes hopefully you can help. I think I got bitten by a spider, in my mailbox but I didn’t feel anything. But I was sitting and got the sensation of my right index finger going numb.it has traveled up to the second knuckle. It feels like a bandaid that’s on too tight. Any help will be appreciated.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. Any insect bite can cause trauma/inflammation of the subcutaneous tisdue if dkin... this can cause pressure of inflammed tissue on periferal Nerve suplying tip of left index finger..which would cause the symptoms. Ice or water application, anti inflammatory pulls over the counter, anti allergic pills if there is itching..& oral B12 pills over the counter .would help by home care in some extent. In case of no relief ....consult your family doctor Thanks
