Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Numbness In Arms And Legs When Suffering From Lymphocytic Colitis?
I have been diagnosed with lymphocytic colitis. Have had polyps removed during colonoscopy and had a flat tumor removed in 2008. In the past month I have had increased occasions of numbness in my left leg and right arm when my bowel gets full. It passes w elimination. It is not severe but becoming a concern.
It is unlikely to be related to colitis. Conditions like peripheral neuropathy must be excluded.
Drugs like gabapentin will be effective. As first-line management drugs like neurobion can be tried. If symptoms persist better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
