Hello,
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
Thanks for writing.
I am Dr.Saddiq-ul-Abidin. I have read your question completely, I understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.
I am sorry to know about the problem, but it's a pleasure to know that you foot is healing well. Hopefully you will get back to normal real soon.
According to your history and the way your symptoms developed , plus the fact you are using crutches in too am of the opinion that this problem is caused by your crutches.
There are blood vessels and nerves passing through our arm specially the arm pit if one uses crutches which put pressure in the arm pit , these nerves or arteries may be blocked for the time being which may cause
numbness or
tingling in the area which these arteries or nerves supply.
There are a certain things which you can do to relieve you symptoms and keep them from happening gain.
1) Reduce the use of crutches as much as you can.
2) When walking try to take most pressure on hand gripping the crutch and less pressure on the arm pit.
3) You always have the option to change the type of crutch you use but that you should do after discussing with your physiotherapist or dealing doctor so that there are no bad effects on your healing foot whose care is first priority in this case.
4) When ever using the crutch for a longer period like a longer walk keep taking rest or stand for 1-2 minutes relieving pressure off the arm pit.
5) Three times a day
massage the pressure areas on your arm and move your arm around shoulder joint in circular motion.
Hopefully this problem will improve much if you follow my instruction , if it doesn't get better in a 3-4 days or so , then contact your doctor for further opinion.
I hope this answered your question. If you have more queries I am happy to answer.Otherwise
rate and close the discussion
Regrads.
