What Causes Numbness In Fingers While Sleeping At Night?
When I go to sleep at night my right hand, more my fingers go to sleep and tingle, when I sit up it goes away. I have tried right side, back and left side to sleep. Still does it. I have been tested for carpel tunnel, do not have it. I do type at work all day.
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Acute onset numbness especially during night time during sleeping occurs most commonly in some neuritis or some entrapment of nerves. Carpel tunnel syndrome is one of common reason for such presentation but this has been ruled out.
Other possible reason for such presentation is nutritional deficiencies mainly of Vitamin B12 and folic acid. Get your B12 test done to rule out the condition and start taking B12 supplements if levels come in low ranges.
Hypothyroidism is other possible cause for such symptoms. Please get thyroid function tests done to rule out the condition. If the numbness is occurring in episodes then most likely reasons for numbness is anxiety but you have persistent numbness in night only so possibility of anxiety is less likely. Visit a doctor for evaluation and treatment.
Hope this helps you. Thanks and Take care
