Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have what i think is a surface blood vessell on the upper gum, However I can feel some numbness against my gum when I press just to the side on my nose at the upper gum line. Actually I can press the area and the vessel or what ever it is will bleed. Whats up. My appointment is several weeks away. This has been going on now for a few months, Starting to get concerned as it appears to be a non healing issue.
As per your complain and the symptoms which you have explained it seems that you can either have a deep infection in gums involving the deeper structure that is the jaw bone
In case of infection in the gums can lead to inflammation of the gums and as the gums contain a profuse blood supply there can be bleeding on slight stimulation.
The long standing infection in gums can lead to involvement of the underlying bone and can cause bone loss and even loosening and fall of tooth.
In case of gum infection scaling which is a process to get gums cleaned by dentist is done followed by antibiotics preferably Doxycycline and metronidazole along with topical application of gum paint and antibiotic ointments.
Hope your query is solved..
